Last year Peru received $2.7 billion in remittances, a figure that represents a 2.9 percent drop compared with 2012, the central reserve bank said in a report to which Efe had access Monday.
In the fourth quarter of 2013, the money sent home by Peruvian emigrants totaled $708 million, some $8.5 million less than in the same period of 2012, according to the report.Read more
