IFAD tender on baseline research in 11 African countries

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) based in Rome Italy, has recently published a Request for Proposal on the United Nations Global Marketplace portal (www.ungm.org) for recruiting a company with expertise in baseline researches. The RFP is open to both commercial firms and not-for profit institutions.

The objective is to undertake a baseline survey in eleven (11) African countries to objectively measure the quantitative and qualitative situation prior to the provision of technical assistance in four (4) countries and the preparation of the roadmap in the remaining seven (7) African countries. The baseline research will be focused on measuring amongst potential customers the demand-side perspective (awareness, knowledge, needs, behaviour and perceptions) about receiving and sending money via postal networks and their financial practices (access and demand to/of financial services, financial practices, or asset ownership). The analysis will consist of quantitative survey data collection and qualitative interviews.

The interested firms should be registered in UNGM with at least the Basic Level (the registration is easy, quick, free of charge). The proposals should be submitted through the UNGM portal by 3 April 2014 at 15:00 CET.
