Remittances of Albanians living abroad have fallen in the last five years according to a study carried out by the “Agenda” Institute. According to the study, 57% of recipient families have received less money than a year ago.

About 91% of Albanian immigrants work in EU member states while the average immigrant sends back home about 1400 Euro annually, which are used by relatives in Albania to cover basic expenses. Only 6% of that amount is actually saved, Tv Scan reports.
